    Drop Question

Hey whats up guys, Im going to be dropping my car soon with some tein springs or eibach. The thing is, right now I have some heavy ass subs in my trunk, and the car looks like its dropped in the back and lifted in the front! If I get an all around drop, will i run into any problems?

Usually lowering springs are also stiffer, so that makes up for it. How heavy are they exactly?

Are you sure its not just an optical illusion...since the fenders dont line up.

im pretty positive, because I know that stock, the rear looks lower anywyas, but when i take my subs out, the whole end gets lifted a significant ammount.

My rear sits lower because of my system. I've been looking into spring spacers to lift the rear up, but i don't know anyone who has tried it before.

I was thinking of sticking something like this:

inbetween one of the coils in my rear to keep the ass end from dragging.

so pretty much, we just have to deal with it? if i got a set of coilovers, would it mess the whole thing up if i dropped it like 1.5inch in the back and 2.5 inches in the front?

I had coilovers and set the rear up higher than the front. Just look at the pics of my car in my sig. I have my Ground Controls for sale if you decide to go that route.

so you have a set of coilovers in your car now? it looks like a really nice drop. It didnt effect the offset or whatever it is? Does it throw off any kind of setting at all?

actually, i have TRD suspension now and am trying to sell off the coilovers. It didn't effect the offset or anything. The only thing that will be effected is the camber if you drop it past 2".

i see, so im assuming there is nothing wrong with the ground controls that you're selling? any reason you went with the trd's instead of the coilovers? sorry for the 20 questions all the time! i appreciate the help

Yeah, the ground controls are fine. I've been switching over a lot of stuff to TRD. I also wanted a mild drop with a softer ride because I'm going to be riding around with my friends baby in the car more often and I don't want it to be too rough for him in back.

oh ok thats cool, how much are you willing to let them go for, shipped to 89129? also, this is a little off topic, but I was looking at your site, and those eyelids look sick. How did you make them? or if you still have yours that you're not using will you be willing to sell them to me too? assuming they fit my 99.

You could always save your hearing and make your system smaller.

I went through that sound system stage in my life...one sub is good enough for me now.

$275 + $15 shipping via UPS. The eyelids were made using vinyl and were later replaced with fiberglass, but that broke a while ago. I don't have anything left to sell off my ride right now aside the Ground Controls. If I ever get TRD rims, I'll sell my Rota Slipstreams. One of them needs to be straightened out though.

Cool. Not a prob. Just keep your eye out on the for sale section. If I sell them before then, I'll post it there.

I installed Eibach Sport springs - the rear "looks" lower because as dre said, the fender wells don't line up. the car is EXACTLY the same height from the bottom of the chassis to the ground everywhere on the car.

Well, mine is pretty low in the back. Friends end up kicking the sideskirt when getting in back because there's so little room to stick your foot under it. The front is fine though. If I can't get the rear of the car up onto the alignment rack during lunch today, I'm going to get that spacer that I posted a pic of.
