Corolla XRS for $23k?!? who are they kidding?

The local toyota dealership here (palm beach toyota), where i bought both my corollas has their corolla XRS's listed STARTING AT $19,500. They've got one for over $23k!! Shit, it's a nice car, but damn, almost $10k more than the S? Crack kills man.

I'm guessing it's from dealer markup.

They are ripping people off. The sticker price on the dealership I will most likely get it from is $ 24,128 Canadian (XRS package with all options included).

yeah-i went to my local dealership yesterday for some parts-and i checked a red xrs out-the sticker price was 24,595...super ridiculous! hey you think thats bad? customers on the prius waiting list are now paying (i think) about 2-4 grand OVER sticker price b/c of demand.... which makes it about 22-26 grand total..

I don't know how is it possible that the XRS is cheaper in Canada (24K sticker price for every option you can add) than the US. There i something seriously wrong there. That is just not possible since the exchange rate is 1:1.30 and even if it is built in Canada, it would still be 4-5K cheaper in the US.

The local dealer here has it for like 2050, because of extra options (One of which is standard I think). 650 dollars for Power windows and locks. 1500 for Security system. then another 500 for delivery.

    Sentra SE-R Spec V MSRP: $17800
    Corolla XRS MSRP: $17455

There is no way in hell XRS sticker price is $23-24K.

My dealership is offering me an awesome deal. They are willing to take my 04 Corolla S for a good price and give me a bargain on the Corolla XRS. I still have to wait for another month or so before it can materialize.

Have you even bothered looking inside a new Corolla( 03/04 LE or S), let alone the XRS, which arguably has the best interior a Corolla has ever seen???I would suggest picking up some magazines and flipping through the strongest points of the new Corolla.

I've seen new corollas at autoshows, cheap plastic everywhere just like on the previous corollas. and btw, you're not going to get luxury anything until you start paying upwards of $30K...

reading a magazine instead of actually sitting in one? lmao One (if the the biggest) weak point in Toyota in general are it's bland, plasticky, and somewhat dated interiors and the Corolla is a classic case of that. You know something is not right when the interior an 2001 looks almost the same as a 1993 corolla sans some minor differences.
