My boss has one and let me tell you something. Besides the i-mode thing this is one sweet ride. I would love to be able to afford one.

I drove a 745i, a coworker of mine has one. Its very nice. For a heavy car it really picks up with its 323 horsepower. The suspension is excellent. You get up to 100 with no problem. Its got agreat surround sound system, speakers under every seat, the shifter is kinda wierd. All around i like it but i wouldnt buy one its too impractical. Its a 90,000 dollar car.

i've driven the previous style 740iL, the car is fast for its size. i guess the new 745 would be a lot faster.

i drove a 2003 C240 elegance last saturday and those things suck! really disappointed with the car. for a v6, it only got 163 or 162 horses. i mean a 4cyl. accord makes 160 already. anyways, i floored it and i would sit there like for 3-4 seconds before the car slowly takes off. at first i thought coz the a/c was on so it's slower. turned off the a/c and tried again... wtf, i said to myself - same thing. considering it's a benz, i think it's a piece of crap. it's loaded, looks nice and all, but the performance side of it is very disappointing.

The C240 is an I4, not a V6. It's also the cheapest Benz you can buy, so don't expect it to be lightning quick. Try driving the new C320 and then come back and talk to us :D. The 2.4L engine in the C240 is better suited to the C-Class hatch and also, because the car it's supercharged, you can always put a different pulley on to eek out some more power.

My mom has a C280 and that thing kicks ass. The engine sounds so sweet when you're accelerating hard. I can't even imagine how nice it would sound with a cat-back...

NO. the C240 is a v6, not s/c and not 2.4L. i know the C240 Elegance is a v6 and not s/c coz i looked under the hood. c-class have a number of different engines but the one i drove was a v6. older c-class have 4cyl., 6cyl. and the new c-class AMG have v8. maybe US models have different specs for C240 but the ones in our area are v6.

the I4 s/c version you are referring to are the kompressor models.
all i'm saying is that for a v6, the C240 don't feel like one.

Chris Bangle did a terrible job in styling the new E65 7 series. I'd never buy one and I'm a BMW nut! Butt massager or not... I would never choose the E65 over the E38...

i-Drive isn't as fantastic as it would seem. Just try to scroll thru a couple of menus in rush-hour traffic... you'll be cursing! Just give me the good 'ole knobs!
