to close thier gas cap door and forget to put the gas cap itself back on?

Yes, it was a female driver. I had to pull up next to her to let her know she forgot to do something when she left the gas station.

i did that when i was 16 with my jeep, but it was only the gas cap, i had it on my brake light and since the door was my plate in the back on a spring it was quite easy to forget the cap

Yeah but it's still annoying, restrictive, and gets in the way, I just cut it off. I've also had a problem with it falling even after you put it on the ratainer cup. Anyone else have that problem? It just doesn't sit right on my Corolla.

what i hate is the cap retainer, but no place to set the cap.. so it dangles on your paint.. my scion is like that.. i flip it up over the lid so it's not hanging on anything..

the corolla is cool with the lil retainer cup..

For the longest time that was a complaint I had about the passat...then I realized that there is a ridge in the cap that allows you to rest it on the top of the fuel door.

I saw something like that happen down the beach once while waiting in line for gas. Guy in his Mercedes SUV pumps his gas, then pulls away w/ the pump still in. Pulls the whole damn thing off!

Pissed me off cuz then the pump im waiting for doesnt work and I wasted like 20 mins trying to get gas!!!

and Vamp, to answer the question in the title, some people forget everything when it comes to cars..........like my mom "forgetting" to get her oil changed for 15000 miles, or my sister "forgetting" which is the gas and which is the brake........
