Main benifits of a rotory is its ability to withstand tremendous amount of boost (without major upgrades), willingness to rev (up 12,000rpms and more), very light and compact motor compared to motors of similar hp specs (since its so compact you can position the motor lower and closer to the middle of the car to get a better weight distribution, the 3rd gen rx-7 has a 50/50 weight distribution) and less moving parts so there is less things to break compared to a piston motor.

Disadvantages: weak apex seals, crazy vacuum hoses that if it breaks may cause your motor to blow, an ecu that doesn't compensate for upgrades, and poor gas mileage.

This would be a worthwhile upgrade to a small light car that is rwd. but since 89-present rolla are all fwd there would be to much custom work that would need to be done to put a rotory motor and still have it as a FWD car. It would be much easier to just convert the whole car to a RWD and drop the rotory in there. but u're gonna have to give up every creature comfort in the car like ac, power steering, stereo...etc. U would also have a driveshaft going through the cabin of the car.

just my two cents... the whole deal about engine swaps is very cool, but swapping engine brands (ex. rx-7 into a rolla) is something not bent on... i can't imagine having a v-tec on a rolla or if ever, having a 4agze on a civic, just don't like the idea... maybe a turbo charger install instead...
