i had one of those when they first came out and I ended up trashing mine Those intakes werent really planned too well for our cars. Dont waste your money on it like i did, you'll be better off getting one off of ebay.

everyone is skeptical of weapon r products due to the foam filter. Best ram air you could do for your car is a turbo :)

52 dollars? the weapon-r's on ebay are 100+ dollars average... they are very expensive for shortram- as far as heat shield-it "may" help-not likely- its still gonna suck in hot air b/c its still sittin in the engine bay...

Hes talking about the thing that is a hose that attaches over the intake and then you can put the other end in the grill. It won't help you. Also my weapon r sri does good for the power (117 hp @5800 rpm to the wheels with wide open supertrapp, 2001 manual) but its really leaned out the fuel mixture and since i couldn't get the emanage in ill probaly be taking it off. Haven't noticed any differences in the motor after 8k miles with it on, though you never do until its too late.

thats the oil line i think, or whatever its called. Whats an IAT sensor? the thing on top is the maf sensor (doesn't line up at all).

ok-first off wtf is an oil line? IAT is (intake air temp sensor-which is the only sensor in the intake) and there is no MAF sensor...the only possibility is that that silicon hose goes to one of of the vacuum openings on the valve cover-thats all i can think of-OR that there is a BREATHER filter on the end of it-i wish they had the full pic...

I have all the accesories for the Short Ram to convert it to CAI. It takes some patience to get the CAI hose to fit up front. You will have to move the battery to the trunk to use the RAM air scoop. I just used the hose and ran it by the fender under the fuse boxes. If I would have known what kind of hose Weapon-R was going to send me, I would have bought a vinyl dryer (appliance) hose and done this for much cheaper. I still have the RAM air kit with the scoop, filter adapter (slightly used, Weapon-R sent it to me used [bastards], I have never installed it), scoop cover and the remaining hardware. I'd sell it for $40 including shipping. Then all you'd have to do is buy a dryer hose from a hardware store.

just gota through this in here.... that hose on the intake is a crank case vent as far as i can tell... Im basing that on the resonating sound it makes inside my intake pipes.

what do you mean? your saying that that hose goes to the crankcase-but which hole does it go into? one's the pcv and one's the "other" vaccum line...

    valve cover

it is common practice to add a small filter to the vaccum line leading into the valve cover then plugging the line on the manafold side.. but you can also use a hose to tap into the intake system instead of using a seperate filter.

np man, you were on the right track. - I am still not 100% clear on this.

just leave like an inch of vaccum hose on the manafold side and plug it with a screw.

This would keep crankcase/blowby gases from contaminating the intake charge (resulting in a boost of power?). engineers originally did this to recirculate these gases back into the combustion chamber to help with loweing emissions.

let me just get this right so we're all on the same page- THIS pic is what im thinking your talking about please verify if its correct... the blue streak resembles the silicon hose-the red cross resembles were the plug goes in...
