    LED dome light issues...

I've had an LED dome light for about 3 full months. It has 4 LEDs, now only 2 work, and other 2 flicker constantly. Anyone else have this issue? Do these products have a short life? I replaced it with my stock bulb and that one definantly doesn't flicker. When I attached it to a solid 12v source (non-dome light) I had different results, but it seemed to work OK, although it went from 4 to 2 LEDs working. My car has the fade feature, could that be causing failure of my LED? I'd be interested to know, I kind of have the feeling that it may have poor connections on the tips or that they just are a poor product in general.

It is possible the solder on the printed circuit is defective (cold solder joints) if it uses a PCB that is. Is it a sealed unit ?? Does tapping it lightly make them come on or go off ?

LEDs under NORMAL conditions in theory should never burn out (most are maxed out for high brightness though)

The dome light is controlled by the ECM and as long as the polarity is correct there should be no damage to LED or ECM caused by use.

Yeah, that's what the seller suggested, that it was a "cold" solder. He's replacing it, which is pretty nice cause there's no warranty. It does seem to go off and on with tapping. But it only seems to have serious issues when it's in the dome fixture, not when it's just directly connected to 12V (it has issues a lot less frequently then).
