    My first shoW!

This weekend I am showing my car for the first time.

For those of you who have shown....

    I have some questions..

    1. Have any pointers?
    2. How do you keep your car so clean when you have to drive to the show?
    3. What do they look for the most?

    Thanks!

Go to the show early and detail your car there. Use Black Magic tire wipes in the engine bay to give it a nice shine (remember how we did that in Canada). Made sure to clean the wheel well lips and under the side skirts. I had a judge take point off because of that. Be sure to point out all your mods, even if they're obvious. Let them know what work you did yourself. I got mad points because my car was DIY. Um, that's all I can think of for now. I've only been in one show myself.

No, you dont HAVE to but it is a good thing to do. If you really dont have a chance to win, it's no big deal to leave it closed. I leave my trunk closed every show b/c there is all kinda shit piled up in there! :p

I have never outright won in a show but I did get the BIG trophy for one show that we had. It was the "wining trophy" but it was a voting thing for all the people in the show. I won b/c I have done so much to my car and put so much work into it in such little time--that's why almost everyone voted for me :D

detail at the show. if you have to drive your car is going to get messed up on the way there. i always noticed that they check your windows. make sure you clean everything. another thing is clean the under side of your hood. people usually for get that.

Most shows have an engine bay catagory. If ya dont show your engine, you have no chance in those type of shows. Cuz you wont be getting those points. Same thing with the trunk.....just depends on the show.

dress for the weather, if it's cold and windy don't wear shorts and be cold all day, it really ruins it, and don't be very dissappointed if you lose. go for the fun of being there and seeing other cars. wash your car really good at home, detail once you get there at least an hour early, bring cash and if you can another person in a another car to go and get stuff you might have forgotten. if it's outdoors you can't really make a good show, but if it's indoors you should try to decorate your space w/ some ribbons or something, have old pics of your car available.
