With all the crap talk and commercials I have been considering an XM system (too much going on this summer though) My Pioneer states that it is XM ready, I think that just means use the AUX input is my guess ??? I have gone to the site for the free trial but that amounts to the same songs over and over not a true sample I'm sure. But all in all it seems to have a wide variety. Congratulations on your purchase!!CW

XM Ready means you add the Pioneer tuner and an antenna and you can control everything from the headunit. The variety is pretty good. I'm happy with it.

Hey Vamp, I checked out the XM site again and had a couple of questions. Is there an activation fee ? And can you pay for the subscription monthly or does it require CC ? The Roady looks like a pretty good set-up and the smaller antenna looks cool as well. But the remote unit looks tempting so..... Thanks for the help !!! CW

$9.99 to activate online, $14.99 (I think) over the phone. You need a CC and can pay monthly, quarterly, every 6 months, or yearly. You can also prepay for 2 or more years and save $$$. You can cancel and get a prorated refund.

I got xm on my ride, and I like it, when I get bored with cd, its pretty cool to have another thing to listen to without commmercials. Hate the fact that signal goes out when you are under a bridge or beside a really tall building which blocks reception, but I guess you can't have everything. Sirius or XM same difference with this problem. All satellite signals goes in and out depending where you are.
