Would it be because you would want all your gauges to match?

    reverse indlglows

(i know this is off topic, but i need a fast responce)

    http://images.channeladvisor.com/Se...9802_NoTach.jpg
    ^^^clicky^^^

its its a reverse indliglow with no tach, then why do the 3 sub panels have to be connected? dont the warning lights shine through when they are light up?

i dont understand why i would need to plug these in if i bought them. can someone please send a real pic with all the panels light up, or is it just a bluff?

    thanks!

    Compare those two pics.
Template is the same but the diference is that one is WITH TACH
and the other is WITHOUT TACH
They use the same template for both products.

If you got one WITH TACH you must connect those subpanels
to light up Gas level gauge and Temp gauge.

If got WITHOUT TACH then you dont need to connect them.
Gas and Temp are located on panel where RPM should be.

Maybe I'm wrong but that my thinking.

Seems to be the same item, seems to have the same wiring harness. Maybe you should ask the seller for a scan of the instructions....

It occured to me that the idiot lights are what will glow, and your original warning lights are bypassed. However, it would be better if they glowed in a different color so they stood out.

My LE with 4-speed auto has a tach, you'd think a manual would also have one. Unfortunately, sometimes options are added to cars because the people with money that like automatics want a tach because it's cool, the people with manuals get them either because they want performance, or because it's cheaper. They figure "cheaper" and don't want to raise the price of the car putting in a tach...

I don't understand your question, you are buying reverse INDIGLO gauges. How do you expect the indiglo to work if they don't connect to a power source? On a "regular" (non-reverse) indiglo, the entire face lights up. On the reverse gauges, just the numbers light up. Although most of them have a small inner circle that also lights on the face. I chose the reverse gauges, personally. Your original gauge lights will not shine THROUGH the gauges. When the gauges are installed they are flat and flush against your old ones. The light for stock gauges comes from below the gauges, that's why they are so dim and ugly. Non-reverse indiglos are just kind of absurd (I think). It would be like having your entire steering wheel light up. That of course, is just my opinion. Yey for me, I finally replaced my broken clear corners today.

As I said before, maybe the electrical connections on those other panels are for the idiot lights (check engine, oil pressure, O/D off, etc) so that way they perform those functions rather than using the OEM lights "shining through."

Again, you should probably direct your queries towards the seller of the product rather than berating people for their guesses, or their attempts to clarify the details.

It also occured to me that they just fill dummy positions on whatever connectors the normal illumination would have used so it keeps those connections clean and easier to restore to the original settings should you decide to return to the OEM look.

I could be way off, but I'm just trying to apply logic to the situation given the information at hand.

dude, seriously, how do you not understand?

first of all, i have the NON TACH cluster, so the 2 main gauges include of the MPH and TEMP/GAS gauge. ok, i KNOW those have to be pluged in, but what about the other 3 that come with it that have NO REASON TO BE LIT since the only thing on them are the indicator lights (engine, gas, brake, back window heater, etc.) do you understand now? stop lookin at the ones with the tack, and look at the pic i posted.

do you understand now? if not, IM me: SkyAce2004 and ill try to make u understand

I get what you're saying now... those other three pieces probably do light up. Sometimes eBay folks aren't very accurate with their photos.

You also didn't read my replies, which included theories on what actually did light up on them, a hypothesis that the connectors were to fill the plug-ins on the factory connectors to protect them, and the suggestion that you find out from the seller what those connectors are for.

You might also wish to pursue this with the manufacturer of the product.

A picture of the product on procarparts.com does not show the connectors: http://www.procarparts.com/store-de...Y98CL%2D3815RGX

they dont plug up to your stock connectors, those are connectors for the transformer they are powered by, theres a red and black wire that powers the guages
