    MTEC Vs. SilverStar

    I know that Mtec have a higher kelvin (4350) to the silverstar (4000). But the Mtec have a blueish tint and the silver star's are almost completely white.

    Anyone with any knowledge of them please share.

    i dunno what it is with my camera turning everything blue in nighttime shots...but my noens are purple, and the strobe is really hyperwhite.

    i had my cam on;
    -2EV and
    outside seting
    incadencent lighting

    (still tryin to get best use outta seting, but there ye are!)

    I think I would rather a blue tint to a white one.

    good. enjoy them...especially in the rain.

    just make sure you disable your DRLs or you'll have blown bulbs a lot sooner than you'd like.

    Yea the silverstars have a nice, white color to them, but they still don't put out enough light for me. Even with the Silverstars, the halogen (non-hid) headlights on my mom's C280 seem twice as bright and have and beam pattern that's way more defined.

    It's a night and day difference, really. Because of this, I think I'm definitely going to get the Koito headlights and convert them to HID projectors or Xenons.

    the DRL module is under the passenger side dash. You have to unbolt the retainer and pull it out, but don't dissconnect it. You have to cut a wire going from the module and that should disable the drl. Check out Vamps DIY website, it has really detailed steps there. It really helped me.

    I got silverstars too. Great choice. I picked them cuz i wanted a factory look with brighter output. Also cops can't give me shit and i'm harder to notice.

    Question how do you disable the DRL (I'm guessing it's Daytime Running Lights) in a 99 Corolla, I find that annoying that they stay on all day, I Like that they come on if it's dark out, any way to get it to work that way? If not, I'm sure I can be ok with the usual, dark out turn on the lights routine ^_~x

    glad you can be ok with the usual, because you're stuck with either them on all day and brightening at night, or off all the time till you turn them on. why not put a switch in, incase you get sick of having them off all the time?
