    xB on pimp my ride

on todays PMR they had an escort they were going to work on but the car was like 2 or 3 cars poorly welded together (really weird if you ask me). they deemed it way too unsafe for the road so they bought the guy a brand new xB to pimp out. havent finished the show yet but so far its alright.

i can tell you right now they will add big ugly chrome rims, a big ugly wing, big uglu graphics, and a couple bass tubes (which they will describe as the greatest speakers in the world).

Actually, it turned out nice, I saw it and I liked it. The wing was unnecessary but it was real nice.

The wing had to go. The wheels were tight. Even though they riced it up a bit, the xB ended up still looking nice.

Luckily, they didn't work on the xA, but I saw it a bit and it wasn't too bad for the interior. I didn't get to see the exterior, but I noticed flames, so that's never good.

Flames are not a bad thing; its just that they used a decal instead of paint. The wing needed to go, it was crap. The body kit they used looked like an evo front and looked like crap too.

The flames were decal (will probably rip over time), but how can you paint a brand new car? The rims were way tight (3-piece), don't even wanna know what those things cost. The wing was silly, the floating amp was cool, the fabric sunroof was nice, the custom dash with computer that can check email, surf web, find directions, play DVD's, play mp3's was very cool, not to mention the 7" LCD screens in every headrest. Rice or not, there was some nice stuff packed into that thing. That kid is pretty dam lucky to upgrade from a POS escort worth nothing.
"This thing has a partial weld, and the rest they glued together with liquid nails!"
Xibit: The only thing holding this thing together is chewin gum!

The Scion was a bit extreme.. I would have thought as cheap as MTV is, they would have just picked up a cheap $500 escort somewhere that was structurally sound and fixed it up.. Sorta like when a pet dies and you just replace it with another one.

i saw last 5mins of the show last night. interesting show, kinda like the extreme makeover (home edition) but for cars. i saw this caddy with huge chrome mags and lcd screens inside. looks really cool. next week, they're supposed to fix up this olds cutlass.

That's actually one of the more tastefull cars they've done on there. i liked the entire car except for the previously noted wing, decals and bumper (a.k.a. cow catcher).

The best overall car I've seen them do is the Land Rover for the Yoga chick and dare I say it...I really liked the graphics from the CRX (the one with a rebuilt and painted carbed motor :D )

well personally i think the kid lucked out, he basically won the lottery... the ice in that car was amazing. a computer, with that system. the wing was just dumb. the sun roof would be awesome. and that bumper really looked like the cow catcher of that thing on the front of old trains. it was nasty.

i definitly agree...the interior of that thing was really nice but the outside looked like crap. IMO the only things i would do to an xB is to lower it, get some rims, and tint. maybe shave some stuff off but most everything else doesnt look right on it.

Let me just make sure I understand.

You drive a previous generation Corolla, which is worth less than a new Scion, and it's the "S" model with factory rice add-ons and no extra horsepower which you are planning to rice out further by putting mesh covered ventilation holes in the rear bumper----- but you are knocking the Scion for being a cheap $500 glued together Escort?

    OK dude. LMFAO... hahahaha

    You're funny.

Bring your Corolla to the track and we'll see who has a faster lap time. My xB or your Corolla super-elite sports sedan or my glued together $500 Escort, m'kay?

I bet you have an automatic transmission and a shift light too.

    hehehe

Just for the record, I didn't like the Scion they did up at all. It was pure rice IMO and the wing was extra retarded.

I paid $14,750 for mine with XM radio as the only option, but they usually go out the door for $14,500-$15,500 depending on options.

The Scion xA sells for $13,500-$14,000 or so.

Toy_Odor: why are you dissing me? I wasn't even dissing the SCION (cept a few things), overall I liked it.. I was commenting that I'm amazed MTV fit the bill to buy a brand new SCION. Read carefully next time.

For the record, I don't claim to be fast. I know I basically have a shitty stock corolla (S, and it's manual, not that it matters), but you go ahead and insult me. Ricers are people who think they're fast with body kits/stickers/etc., that's not me dude.

Don't worry toyotaboy, Toy-Odor is an idiot who didn't read/understand the thread or didn't see the show. He thought you were saying that the Scion was a glued together Escort, when in fact the welded together Escort was an actual Escort on the show which they got rid of an replaced with a Scion.

And BTW Toy-Odor the Corolla S is not "factory riced" Since when are sideskirts rice?? You should have more love for all toyotas, but I guess you were just over-reacting becuase you thought someone was insulting your precious car. And BTW talking about beating up on Gen8 Corollas with your Scion is a huge joke unless you have forced induction. Those cars are great but they are substantially slower than a Corolla which is very slow itself ;)
