    NOS on a 1ZZ

Has this been done? Is anyone here using nitrous?

I've been catching up on some reading and asking around and some people say i can get a full 40-60hp on a regular v4 engine with no internals to change.

    any opinions?

well naws takes much better to the v4 configuration....... itll make like 450lb/ft of torque at an AFR of about 22to1

just be careful and only race cobras with a blown head gasket

    *edit*
i do refer to it as nitrous i just was refering to the specific "NOS" brand name kit no reffer on wet, dry or direct port... although i think wet would be the way to go...being direct port to expensive.

yes it has been done....i heard up 2 a 75 dry shot on a stock 1zz....but u alwayz risk detonation using nitrous on a stock block....but u should be safe using a 60 shot or lower and 1zz r inline 4s

doing it safely... prob wanna go with a 25 shot or 50 shot... ne more then that... u might risk something gettin damaged... u might also wanna change to colder plugs... and use better gas... and heck... even add a alcohol injection kit to your nitrious setup...

Eventually, I'll get around to installing my NX kit -- n2oRolla ran a 75 shot, but I'll probably stick with 35 or 50 to be on the safe side. I want to stretch at least 200k out of my engine..heh

Hey bro go ahead check out newcelica.org and matrixowners.com... On MO there are 3 members with nitrous setup... NC has more members... If I were you I would go with a 50 shot... There a lot more involved so go check out those sites, they should answer all your Qs...

yeah nitrous will be your solution 4 some long gearz and some quick speed....my buddy has a 98 mustang cobra (5 psd) w/ the stock block and a shit load of performance modz, but nonetheless no turbo yet....and hez got like something close to 500 WHP and then on top of that he has 150 shot of nitrous. talk about flying.

v4?!!! Oh god, do you really know what you're doing? I know of only two cars ever made to have a v4 and they sucked. Nevermind. For nitrous, don't go too crazy. Up to or below 50 shot will be safe. Run it with premium gas and don't run the nitrous for long periods of time. If you're really serious you can beef up the internals, but you might want "more throttle and less bottle"

Yeah please don't call em V4's.

As for racing Cobra's with blown head gaskets, remember, YOU have the blown head gasket. That adds like what 10 extra horses right? Where's Zex when ya need him.

So, let me get this straight. If you stay under a 50 shot, you should be ok on not upgrading the internals? Upgrading the internals has been the only thing that has stopped me from getting the bottle. But if you can get a 40-50 shot, and be ok, then I'm just going to have to scoop that up.

50 shot and under should be fine -- n2oRolla ran a 75 shot, and I believe his engine was stock. Then again, there was someone running a 75 shot a while back and blew his engine..but I'm not sure if that was nitrous related.

Well, looks like I will be getting a 40-50 shot to play with until I get enough money for my engine swap. I'm back on the map, now that I have a new job.
