The RSX is considered a luxury car because it is an Acura. I personally like the RSX better. Mor powerful engine. More standard features and a better gear box.

Yeah u can get a way better car for 16g's I remember my brother was gonna get a brand new 03 celica gts for 15g's but it was sold before he could get to it. We went to look at the xrs corolla and that thing just looks sweet, but performance wise I have no clue, and it was going for 20 so not bad at all. Good luck man and dont rush into just picking any car.

i have been told one of the easiest ways to fix the bad gear spacing is to buy the trd short shifter. but that is like 200 bucks plus labor. not to mention some people don't like the shorter throws.

I think Toyota came out with a TSB for the gearboxes. So you might be able to get the gates spaced out for free.

front look pretty agresive... (not the rear)
size pretty small useful if u need to find a parkin place
engine if can be turbocharge or increase the discplacement to 2.0 liter plus turbo it would be great...
AWD in this car can put this car again some other pocket rocket..

ah iam not to impressed with the gts its a small car like a lot of people said it does look cool if u get the action package put on. as far as speed it can go just not as fast as other cars competing in that section. if you really like that car go for it solid car with a few probs but easily fixed

Sorry I havn't checked this board in a few days, I've been busy with a wrestling camp. Anyway I test drove the car on friday. You guys are pretty much right about the power. It's nothing impressive just driving around normally. The dealer was like "this cars got a warranty take it as high as you want." So I got the car up to 8500rpm a few times, hey he told me to! It pulls pretty hard once it hits 5 or 6 grand, I was having some fun. It's definately not worth the selling price and I will definately be looking at some other cars before I decide but I do like the interior and the way the car handles. I've read reveiws where people say the engine makes too much noise. I kinda like it, I'm used to loud ass exhaust so I thought it was a cool sound. So yup thats how that went.

once you slap the full TRD catback exhaust on the gt-s, the sound is phenomenal-has a nice growl to it.

You pretty much nailed that one on the head bro.

The 2000 at least has the raised rev limiter so you don't have to worry about falling out of lift on your shifts. That makes a HUGE difference in speed.

Also, with the Power FC out now, the Celi's aftermarket is starting to grow. Granted, it can't touch the RSX's right now, but you can find Celi's for cheaper for sure at this point.

I've never driven the Celica though, so my opinion's are just from what I've heard. Its all about personal taste in terms of looks of course. Celi doesn't do it for me, but for a lot of people, my car doesn't do it for them. If you're seriously considering both cars (to the thread originator) then you've gotta go drive both. Both certainly have their pluses and minuses.

    Danke!

And yes, that's another thing I forgot to mention. The 2002 Celica GT-S had a lower rev limiter so landing in "Lift" when switching gears was a pain in the ass. 00,01,03,04 Celica's have the higher limiter.

    Nice car btw.

Thanks for the compliment..appreciate it. You guys have been very cool thus far..and I know how Honda owners are perceived typically (a lot deserve it) so I appreciate the open mindedness on this board so far!

Yea, but honestly, it looks stock.

All my mods have been picked to retain the "sleeper look" if you will.

I've got AEM V2 intake, RS*R ExMag Exhaust (because I hate fart cans), Hondata #4, DC short shift adapter with metal bushings...and some audio stuff and DIY grounding wire kit.

I'll probably be getting some wheels pretty soon and then drop it. BUt I do so much traveling for work that dropping it has been a tough decision because this car is already a harsh ride.

I'll put 'em up if you really want me to though. BTW, how do you post pics here? I can link them from another site or should I just use the "insert image" from the top of the toolbar?

u put [IMG] but you could just post the links. I see cool, I wanna do some stuff to my car too. Ive had it for 3 years now and all it has is clear corners, white lights, painted tails, 12 inch JL sub and 400watt amp Logic. I wanna do some performance stuff and handling. Handling all I would like is just springs and struts. Perfromance I really dunno yet since I got a 3speed so I dunno what to do or if its worth it. You know, and I dont got a pay check every week to count with that, I gotta save up from what I get around and at college with the financial aid (around 2gs taking out books and entry fee) But I dunno...
