removing tint

Go to autozone, in your tint section there is a tint remover solution by gila, that would dissolve the glue, but you will still have to scrap it off with a razor.

i gota take my tint off so i can get it redone but the problem is the shops here in california want to chage me up the ass to strip the car down soo im goan do it my self... soo waht do i need to take the glue off?? i mean i can use a razor blade for the clean windows but i cant do that wiht the back one soo is there some kinda caminal that wont harm and take the glue off.. or is there such thing as "tint removal"..??

well if u still have the tint on...this is the procedure 4 a pretty clean removal...

U need....black trash bags, soapy water in a spray bottle, and maybe a razor blade and a nice hot day...@least like 85 F or so will do.

1. cut the trash bags so they r only single layer....cut each layer to fit over the inside of the tinted window

2. spray the soapy water on the the inside of the tinted window

3. lay the cut out of the trash bag over the soapy water

4. spray soapy water over the outer part of the trash bag and close door

5. come back in approx. 30 min or so and remove bag

6. try 2 get a corner of the tint w/ your fingernail or a razor blade and then peel it off....it should come pretty easily

as u know u can use the razor blade if n e glue if still present on the front windowz, but on the back window just try using windex and a sponge or scrubber (one that wont scratch the glass)...if that doesnt take the glue off let me know and I can get u something that will.

I did see in a tint shop used a "steam cleaner " ...one that is used for clothes.

I used simple green and an sos pad. Only use a razor blade on bare glass. Glass that doesn't have the rear defogger.

yes, instead of using sunlight for sweating off the tint, u can use a steamer, which actaully workz good if u cant get a hot day

really? do you just blast the steam onto the tint or rip it off fist and use it to get the glue?

no itz not the stream kind....it kinda mists it out, but u use it as a heat source...just put it close to the tint until u can get a corner of the tint up w/ your fingernail or somethin and then u just have 2 be patient and keep heatin section and pullin the tint down...heatin some more and pullin it down some more until itz all off. just be careful cuz the shit getz real hot

yea i got one of those steam buggy deals i used to clean my engine bay.. never thought of using it to remove tint..
