    Maintenance Advice

I don't know too much about cars so I am hoping that someone can give me some good advice. I took my 03 Corolla to the dealership to get it's scheduled oil change and the person who took care of me told me that my car is also recommended for a power steering fluid flush ($89) and to have the cabin a/c filter changed ($99). I couldn't afford it because I had just paid $60 for a synthetic oil change and $39 to get the rear brakes adjusted, which was a recommended maintenance service. I know that it is expensive because it is the dealership, but can someone please tell me if it is worth getting these services done there?

Really? So if it is under warranty they should be performing these services? I purchased the gold warranty service offered through toyota. I guess I'll have to like a little more into it. Do you have your warranty from toyota also? Thanx for the advice by the way.

just to add, you can change the cabin air filter yourself. A description of how to do it is in the owner's manual. Also, dont bother with Toyota's replacement, just go to Wal-Mart and buy one of those furnace filters that you can cut to fit and put that in there. Works the same, and will only cost you about 5 bucks for a large sheet that makes 10+ filters.

or just go to advance auto and check to see if they have the cabin filter for sale-its almost as easy to change as your air filter...
