sprinter has flip up light, levin has regular headlight.
the "ae" in the car code is simular to the 240sx's "S" and the 86/92/101 are simply generation numbers.
    i pronounce trueno like "trur-eh-no"
if you're looking for a ae86, get a GT-s. an sr-5 would be pretty tough to get it the way you want it. chassis is not as stiff, no LSd, no 4a-ge (instead has carbureted 4ac). i had a sr5, wasnt worth my time so i sold it.

    i guess technically it's troo-ay-no

but in japanese you can't put two consonants together, so japanese people probably say something closer to too-roo-ay-no romaji-->turueno

uhm... how did history lesson turn into a mudslinging contest...

    AE86 - 84-87 Corolla's - RWD
    AE92 - 88-92 Corollas - FWD
    AE101 - 93-97 Corolla's - FWD

    as obvious, generation codes.

Corolla's were offered in SR-5 and GTS packages prior to 93 (i think that coding started in 84). The SR-5 was considered semi sporty while the GTS was the 'full sport' version. some were offered in LSD (if u get an AE86 and can discriminate, choose the latter years - 86/87 - with the LSD). The AE92's switched to FWD.

in 93, they had the... correct my cues, the CE and the LE for sure, maybe another trim. 94-96 there was the base and the DX (base had 4AFE (1.6) motor, while DX had 7AFE(1.8) motor). In 97, they changed again the CE LE (and possibly a third), then in 98 changed the body style. That body style stayed in effect until the 2003 models (in 01 and 02 they changed the taillights slightly (the reverse lenses are circular) and the headlights and front bumper, along with some other modifications. in 03 they switched to the current body style.

so technically guys, with the code system stated above (learned something new) the 81 I had would be like would be like... say.. a TE71 or something ?
