GF getting a new car...Which one?

Doooh! IS300 IS300 IS300! The others simply do not compare to this car( although, they are good in their own right).

IS300. Ownz the other two cars in reliability. Not to mention it's 2JZ powered. w00t! w00t!

Um, she is ditching her Civic and getting a 4 door. She has a few choices but is kind of picky. I have decided to get her a PINK paintjob on whatever she gets. These are the choices.

Lexus IS300
Mazda6
Mazda RX8 (not a 4door I know, just likes it)
------------Now what she is hopeful for...Parents MAY go for this, I dunno...
Subaru WRX sti

Now, I know that everyone on this board is going to be like, STI!!! But of the other 3, what do you think? I am leaning toward the IS300.

BMW 3 series would be nice or an infiniti G35

not a fan of mazda... so mazda is off my list... i would choose IS300

She actually loves G35's also...And I have been telling her about 330ci's all the time (they may be a little pricey though)

Out of the list, I would choose the IS300. But for the price range you showing me, most def a 325 manual or G35 manual. imo

The IS300 is a really nice car to work with but honestly I'd go with the Mazda 6 (V6, manual trans).

Like said before, I would get a G35 Sedan over an IS300. Another option is the TL or TSX.

If you are leaning towards the IS300, This is what I think. Its a good looking car but not much has changed over the last few years. The engine and chassis have a great aftermarket. The interior is not that much bigger than our Corollas. Insurance might be higher than the Mazda 6 and maybe even the G35 sedan. The car is kinda pricey to own.

hint - the RX8 IS a 4-door

IS 300 even though it doesn't have much power for such price lol but if not I'd say the G35, I'm a huge Nissan fan I'd recommend it

u can get a 3sgte caldina for 29,500 USD, then should be well less than 5k importing. i mean she obviously wants something sporty with some room judging by IS300, RX8, 6 and it's gonna be very unique, which i kinda figure she wants since u mentioned that she likes teh rx8 and sti. and it's a wagon, so plenty of room

pink paintjob? i think she should keep her civic and use the rest of the money to buy herself some taste.


or you could always find her one of those newer mary kay caddys with the pearlescant pink paintjob.

I test drove an RX-8 last week. Anybody over 6 feet tall beware. Im 6'4'' and my head touches the ceiling (seat tilted back and slouching). Small rear window, huge pillars, all make it harder to work through traffic than my grand voyager. Power is good though. I only took it up to 90. First feels about as fast as my corolla until 5 or 6 grand and the power comes alive. Spun into 2nd at only 7 grand (redline is at 9.5). The clutch is very harsh. It feels like one of those r/c set's controllers (the ones where you make the track and race them around and around). The brake and the gas are extremely close together. And it handles awesome. I wouldn't buy it, though.

Well, her favorite color is pink and she wants something a little different. I think that its a good idea...It would be "cute"!

Oh and falnfenix...I know that It's not a real 4 door.

A pink IS300 would be tight.

For the price of an IS300, I'd rather be driving a Subie STi or an Lancer Evo (8). Alternatives? The new 270hp Acura TL, a used (B5) Audi S4, a used (E36) M3 (and still have $$$ for mods), a new Nissan Maxima, an Infiniti G35, a Jaguar X-Type, a C-Class Mercedes-Benz.... Many choices.

Maybe she wants a new car and not a used one.

outside of the used ///M and S4, the rest of the cars would be new.

How about a Jetta? Chicks in Jettas are hott!!!
