rant: people can't park, and don't leave notes

So, for the third time this year, (2nd time in one month), some idiot at school hits my PARKED car, and runs off and doesn't leave a note.
Oh, the school police department isn't much help either, "sorry, we don' t have camera's in that lot". gee, do they have cameras in ANY lot?!
    WHAT THE !*)@*#!?!

I just spent the past two hours wet sanding the whole area and then applying a few basecoats. I had paint left over from the first time I had to fix that dent.

WORD TO THE WISE: DON'T PARK AT UCSD

who else has this happened to?

Pics of the first and third accident below (the 2nd one was a minor dent, wasn't worth taking a picture of:(

It's happened to me before, not since I had my car repainted though. Someone must have backed up into me once also because I walked out and my lisense plate cover was smashed up.

lol sadly, this is one of the few parking lots on campus that have spots available at 9:30 in the morning, and it is FAR, FAR away (from the rest of the school). I might as well ride a bike.

my old neabhor used to park her car right up next to mine... I mean 3 or 4 inches. she would hit my car with her mirror everyday. I would park first and she would come in at 9:00 at night and when I left in the morning I would have to get in on the passenger side of my truck.

At my wal-mart parking lot, you'll see corvettes, porsche's, and some other high dollar cars parked at the very back....you may not have a high dollar car, but if you did park in the back, it wouldve definately saved you a bunch of dollars.....but yea dude, sorry ta hear bout that man, sucks it happens to one of us, ya kno....

i'm paranoid about parking in a lot...any lot. my corolla was nicked up multiple times from people opening their doors into it, pisses me off.

yeah, i got my tC a month ago. the first time i took it to school was the second day i had it. some ass opened thier door into it, put a small scratch in it, i rubbed it out, but it left a little dent.
    i hate this shit

I haven't had problems to your degree...but I think some people have walked close to my car with backpacks, suitcases, etc. and there's a few scratches (none in the paint so far) that aren't coming off easy, and one TINY TINY little dent that only I know about. But it pisses me off.

The other day I saw two cars incredibly smashed up. Someone took a turn very fast while gunning the engine and slammed into two cars parked on the end of the aisle (parking structure). One of them was a very nice WRX, the other was some other Suby station wagon. Most of it was cosmetic damage (although pretty severe), but the WRX had bent part of the rear suspension and the tire was sitting funny. I'm only surprised I haven't seen more of it.

I've always parked my car as far away as I can from people, my Matrix has NO door dings and I plan to keep it that way.

^ Same here, but like the 1st week I had the civic my sis went to the store and parked in the front of the lot. Grocery stores are the WORST....all the oldheads and soccer moms who cant drive worth shit park in front. and of course she gets a door ding on a brand new car. I work (well did work) at a grocery store and always parked at the very back of the lot.
