WD-40 usually works pretty well without doing much harm

Does Windex harm paint or strip clear coat?

Goo Gone sucks. I need to remove some sticky stuff off my trunk and Windex worked well, but I don't want to ruin my paint. So any suggestions? I've never had luck with that goo gone either. I must be the only person that has no success with it.

WD-40 works great for tar as well but it will take off your wax in a hurry. CW

Nothing will happen with windex, just make sure to wash that area after you are done removing what ever needs to be removed

A good branded tar remover will do better.
Don't know, just me, I wouldn't try abbrasives or other though stuff on my paint.

windex is fine, just don't use it on tint or vinyl decals cause it will peel...
