    help make a decision

    heres the car
    [IMG]

heres the two options on boxes and subs for the car. we will get them directly from the auction, but the only problem is deciding which one.
which one do you, personally, think is better as far as looks, quality, and sound performance. if your decision is neither, please explain why! :) a 1000 watt rock. fos. amp will be pushing whatever package is bought, so that is part of the decision process also. we are not big audio buffs, so we are at odds on what option to choose. any info or input is welcome, and thanks for your time.

Well I'm not a big fan of bandpass boxes, but if I had to choose one over the other I would go with the Audiobahns. I have had to many friends with sony subs that roasted.

because both those subs are like the bottom line for each company and bandpass boxes arent exactly known for their sound quality

Go with a sub that is higher in their line of subs......and then go out and buy a box for them.
Package deals for 180....should show ya something Like the $100 2 for 1 deals at circuit city/bestbuy

Exactly how I feel. With a bandpass box you will get nice hard hitting bass at a small frequency range, but it wouldn’t be very tight and clear. Personally, I love the sound of a good sealed box. Even if you get a premade sealed box and put a sub in it, I think you will be more pleased with the sound quality of the set up.

between those 2, i would go with the audiobahns - simply better quality speakers. Mine have been booming for over 4 years without breaking a sweat.

you said in the 1st post " we are not big audio buffs" so the way I take it, you are going to get this for show? if thats the case I would just get a bass link

Bandpass boxes give higher spl(sound pressure levels) at a given frequency range, yet they do this at a sacrifice to sound quality and power handling.

they sound Good to me. good quality nice bass. but thats just me i guess. i'm not one to play music insanely loud. it's still a hard choice to decide whether or not to get them or wait and save a little extra cash for summer time.

I think i'm going to wait for both, powder coat my rims and give it a rest for summer, use the truck box w/ a 12" rockford fosgate we already have for now, i just need something that beats hard enough to keep me awake at night.
