Lexus, now to be in Japan.

    http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=sto..._ge/japan_lexus

toyota will launch the lexus line in their own homeland.

this means the names will probably changed for the japanese counterparts.

    farewell to the makes:
celsior, aristo, altezza, soarer, windom, harrier.

^__^; i liked these names better than the "two letters - engine size" which can be found on Lexus vehicles.

If Toyota does well with Lexus in Japan, Infiniti will follow as well.

So what changes besides the badge on the grill? Aren't the Lexus cars here the same as in Japan (probably interior differences)?? I guess I don't get it...

They're the same. The only thing that might change over there in Japan is the badging. Which is going to be weird over there because the Japs are used to seeing the cars as Toyota. It's like having the Camry badged as a Toyota today and having it badged as a Lexus tomorrow.

they may be sold at seperate dealerships as well and since they are marketed at luxury cars (probably to compete with benz, bmw, etc) aestatic options for their car would probably increase along with the price..

The altezza is a high performance car dammit!!! Along with the Soarer!

so is the Aristo. that sucker comes with the 2JZ-GTE in japan.

since american didn't get a turbo model, we got with a V8 GS 430.

    (i'd have preferred the turbo model) ^___^;;

soarer....sudennly next day.. the price rise and they onli change the name to SC430

aristo..i am not so sure japan got the V8 because of the engine really big not many ppl gonna buy tat because the tax is goin to be more expensive than the aristo with inline six turbo.. and then they introduce GS430... wow still weird

harrier...i seen them in asia. very well equip... so they just change the badge what happen to used harrier.. are their price goin to be more stable because the new one is under lexus?? RX330??

Land cruiser.. or LX470... i think the onli diff is just lux stuff.

kinna confusing... because u can find them all in asia if u bring the latest TL... or Pilot... then u can badged it as another brand because they dont have it in the market few years ago... and there is no copy
but.. most lexus cars are alreadi been sold as toyota...
