If you have seen pimp my ride, they have a vertical door kit that they install'd on I forgot what car.

It shouldn't be too hard :p Just needs some nice fabricating.

    DIY Lamboghini doors

I think someone with the right tools and the right experimentation should start working on an affordable flip up door set up. Once I get the right tools you can bet I will start. But who knows when I will get the right tools.

no offense, but why would u do that on a 4-dr. even my doors are too short to really pull it off effectively unless u have major mods.

The actual supplies to make the flip up doors wouldn't cost too much it is the time and fabrication that costs' so much. But if you do this yourself through trial and error, it won't cost so much, and you would of had fun doing the modification.

it was a 92 or 93 civic they did on pimp my ride, they did it well though... on the lambo doors i mean...

in superstreet mag, i've seen a 4-door done, ofcourse, only for the front doors... e.g. H2, but it doesn't look good on a H2...

i think the whole kit would cost like $ 500 if i'm not mistaken...

yea it's not just that the doors open up, they slide forward a bit too....that, and making them line up correctly makes the whole fabrication deal expensive

if i ever did it i'd have to get the push a button and whoosh go the doors for you type, which would be a lot of money, so i think you'd really have to Want them to get them.

man, if you coule get BOTH sets of doors to go Lambo with the rear doors going "suicide"....that would be sick. Highly stupid, impractical, expensive but SICK! What else do you expect out of a show car?

Hahah, that's what I'm eventually hoping to have. Damn, thought I might be unique. But I don't like the automatic lift doors, but I want shaved doors with poppers. Which is where it's getting difficult. Does anybody know how door poppers work or know of any DIY articles on them?

lambo doors are so expensive not only for fabrication, but getting the lock mechanism/latch to line up right.. Unlike suicide doors where you're just reversing the direction it opens, a lambo door has to slide out, and rotate up. Even if it works, it could still be off and not centered very well. It's sort of like window in a house. Often they will still lock, but bad builders won't line them up very well and makes it hard to do.
