    Need help on console lights

I was at 2003corolla.org but since their interior forum is kind of dying off I decided to ask here.

I wanted to change the color of interior console lights, after trying gel cap covers which were way to dim and then trying the sharpie trick which lefts lots of little holes of orange light still showing I am stuck.

I want to have a bright nice blue console. I was wondering if I could just install some blue LED's. In replace of all the other green LED's and regular lights.

How hard would it be? I need some advice since I would really like to do this :p

There is a running post on here with several replies. You need to use resistors to drop the voltage down (the value will depend on the LED and the brightness you want) There IS a polarity for these as well. Use 1 or 2 AAA batterys to experiment. Many blue LEDs are avail in all brightness ranges. CW

Try the LED place in my signature. You'll need a few #74 LEDs and some 194 LEDs (I got the oval tip type, they give the most scattered pattern). Most LEDs are too focused, the oval type make a nice broad pattern. Also, get some "Snake light" LEDs from this site, or some LED interior kits from Varad (eBay). You can use those to replace your odd size bulbs.

    I ordered some, I ordered 3 #74 Blue LED's, and 3 #194 Opaque LED Blue bulbs.

I wasn't sure how many to order, and on the little green LED's on the AC things I will just wait to see how these turn out.

Not sure how long it will take to get here, but when it does I will try to put them in.

I am still iffy on how they are actually install'd.

You'll need AT LEAST 4 of the #74's. I ordered 5, and good thing, I dropped one down in my console when I was installing. I also ordered a spare 194, didn't lose that one. Ended up putting it in the trunk, but it's really focused, so I will probably take it out and use a neon instead.

So what are the 194's for then?

And I need 4 94's for what? To link them in parallel or what?
