um ya. dragon files fly through the "air" Not uncommon. My dad had a bird in his old mazda. he hit it driving and it went right in.

and btw dragon flies are harmless.

It should have been on the bottom?? You will find leaves and etc... The filter stopped it from the engine then they just fall to the bottom of the box. CW

hence the reason why you have a filter on your intake...

i/ve seen people use a pantyhoes for a filter saying it performs better because of the better airflow.

And now you know what side of the filter to look at when checking it. When you open the air cleaner and look at the top of the filter, you are looking at the lee side of the filter, rather than the windward side, which is facing away from you, or towards the bottom of the air cleaner box. Flip that filter over and look at the bottom, if that side looks clean you can put the filter back in (put the correct side DOWN else you'll suck all the stuff that's on it into the engine!), if it's dirty, replace it. Another way to check if it's too dirty is to see if you can see daylight through it well. If not, then it's jammed with dust, even if the surface of the filter looks clean it may have dirt and dust embedded deeply into it.
