    uh, you don't have a 4ag or a 4a-ge.... the ONLY corolla's to come with a 4age auto (no carb'd 4ag's) was the ae82's.....

    tranny problems

    hey all :D ...
my parents bought this car brand new...it's an 89 Corolla DX w/4ag carberated engine w/a 3 speed auto tranny...
i went out w/my friends one day and i took that car...as i a went, the road sloped downward at a traffic light around the middle, i was doing like 40 and the bottom of my car hit the ground and from wht i think happened, the seal between teh engine and tranny broke...i just ignored it cause @ that time i didn't think it caused any damage...but sure enough...it did.
i then went 2 one of the colleges that i had to go to, i spent like 2-3hrs there, i had parked it in reverse so i didn't know if there was anything leaking or not cause...i didn't really get 2 c...but as i was going down the highway, i realized the speed limit was higher then i though so iwent to go speed up from 40-50 and the pavement was dry but i felt the car jerk a little as if i had peeled out or something...everything was fine until then by ther way...then there was a traffic light that was red about a mile or so from there so when i got up 2 the traffic light, i stopped like usual but there was a slight jerking. i was on the outside lane and then when i went to accelerate, the car was bareley moving and it started to jerk And i heard grinding noises...luckily there was a gas station right there...so i slowly drove it to the station and i looked under the car and there was trans fluid all all over the floor at the station...i looked and surly it was trans fluid.
    i had it towed home...
then i was going to get the trans rebuilt but i got another trans for like 400 bucks and another 400 to install...the car dosen't change unitl 30-40 mph, usually around 40 and it jerks back hard...it seems like it's draging out 1st and skiping 2nd and then just jumping to 3rd
by the way my engine still runs strong
    wht should i do...wht's wrong
i'm gonna try and post a few pix

i think thats the way 3 speeds work-like with mine-i hear it go into second-then right into 3rd-its real quick...especially when you dont have the pedal to the floor.

now that i've read more than the first 2 lines and realized you're not quite informed (dont take it the wrong way... i was there too man)..... how in the world did you "break the seal" between the motor and trans? the oil pan is the lowest part of an ae92 in the engine bay not including the cross member, which is DIRECTLY where the motor and trans line up.....
