Hey Dave I missed you last weekend in Brunswick.........the guys informed me of your new purchase, Congrats. I'll be back in Brunswick for the show on the 5th. You'll have to show me what your new ride can do. I'd also like to see how much faster it is than my 5 speed.

yeah nothin like a 105hp uglymobile with the aerodynamics of a brick with sails!

no offense to the xB people, but WHY?!? it's a MINI-MINI-VAN!! with a toyota echo engine!!!

2zz+autotragic is not teh best combo, but still beats a xb

please elaborate! I keep hearing how cool that thing is, but I have yet to find one damn thing about it that I like. It's so anti-aerodynamic that it's almost scary. Throwback to 80s minivans if ya ask me. Seats like a minivan, but is the length and width of a corolla. Powered by the same massive powerplant that pushes the toyota echo to 17sec 1/4 mile times. Imagine what that massive engine could do with twice the weight! Hello xB! HUGE dashboard, to house an instrument panel the size of a silver-dollar. Three gauges crammed into the midget cluster that's mounted in the center, making it seem even smaller. There's only one good thing I can think of to say about it - it's better than the goddamn honda element

I realize these cars are meant for the "youth market," but shit I'm only 23 - not like im old or anything. I wouldn't have liked these things 6 years ago either

Someone, please explain why these things are so popular! What is it that YOU like about it? Maybe that's what others like too.

Main thing about it is that it's cheap, has Toyota reliability, and even adults like it because of the space it provides for the price. Combine the available aftermarket and the hassle-free negotiation and you could have a popular product. Although the same approach is applied to the xA and isn't selling as much as the xB, so personal preference should be added there. I dunno, just my opinion.

i can definitely relate to the cheap aspect of it, but there's a lot nicer looking cheap cars. what aftermarket support are ya talkin about? are there actually performance parts available for that thing? Or do you just mean body kits and other stuff like that? It would suprise me to see performance mods for such a weak engine, but hey anything is possible lol

There actually is performance parts or atleast a lot of it in development. There's a bigger aftermarket over in Japan. TRD has turbo kits for it. They had a video of the turbocharged xA and xB against their stock versions and the difference was pretty noticeable. Let me try to find the video cause I posted it on Scionlife

hahah i was joking around...to me a cool car for a teen would be a 99-00 civic si. I would consider the xA only if it had more power. Scion cars are chic cars. I only see girls(mostly azn) and adults drive these. but the tC......

actually there is a ton of performance mods for the scions, blitz supercharger, 3 different headers, like 5 different exhuast systems, 4 or 5 intakes, and from what I have read, GReddy, SF, and EL Prototypes are all almost done with thier turbos.

When I first learned to drive, I was pissed that my family had nothing but manual transmissions, so my Corolla (first car) was an automatic. All my subsequent cars have been 5-speeds, though. Funny how it changes like that. For any kind of performance driving, I can't stand automatics.
