    racing seat install

Just got my racing seats in the mail today. Obviously the "universal" brackets have no chance in hell of fitting. Is there anywhere that sells racing seat brackets for the corolla? If not I'm gonna go have some custom welded.

Sparco, Corbeau.. they're all made by WEDGE engineering anyways.. or just DIY if you know how to weld

Uh yeah i think i'm gonna learn how to weld this weekend. Those brackets are way too expensive. I could have the same thing made for way cheaper custom and even less doing it myself.

Ya my friend had them put in his 240sx. It cost like 200 bucks. They aren't easy to install so your best bet is to have a shop do it.

Okay well heres my plan. I was gonna go to this welder that I know pretty well and ask him to make me brackets but I think I found a way to do it myself. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

On the stock seats the sliders are actually welded and rivited onto the actual chair. If I can grind down the slider stops with a dremel and just slide the entire bottom rail off I can weld two cross bars across there making a perfect mounting surface for the universal brackets. Anyways I'll be trying that this weekend. Wish me luck.
