Does anyone know if an alarm is set off when windows are broken? My car was broken into in front of my house some time after 2am and they stole over $1grand worth of tools out of the trunk. But now that I've got the Corolla I definately need an alarm but if it won't go off when a window is busted it seems pointless.

I bought a Compustar 2WSS and had it installed 2 days after I got broken into. It has dual-zone shock sensor and remote paging (awesome feature). The shock sensor sets off if someone even smacks your car semi-hard, so yeah it'll set off when your window breaks. My alarm cost $415 installed, which I wasn't thrilled about, but even if you went with a cheaper model, the breaking of the window should be more than enough of a shock to the system that the alarm would sound.

Yeah, I have insurance, but it's just basic liability. No theft. But what pisses me off the most is that they did it at noon in the parking lot at my work....grrrr....how much for the mp3/cd player, Jibran? plus estimated shipping

I'm looking at two diffent Viper models, but the one with the pager is quite high in price. The one without I can get for a measly $85 from work. Definately in my budget.

    with a basic set up...

get a pioneer DEH 7550 (black and white OEL) or DEH 7650 (indiglo OEL)... i don't recommend motorized face as much as i love them, those things suck when they bug down...

for front and rear splits, pioneers are pretty decent as well, amp that with a simple V12 alpine...

a 12 inch pioneer sub is loud enough, ofcourse, have it boxed with a simple band pass... mine is only powered by a mono lightning audio, but the bass sound is clear and loud enough for my ear drum...

for cables? monster cables 200 watts is good enough...

This is kinda off topic, but the same thing happened to my friend's Mirage. Most of his audio set-up was stolen, the assholes also tried to take off the speakers in the back but couldn't pry them out, they even stole his books from school, but get this, they forgot to take the $100+ Oakley sunglasses and a Movado watch.

Yeah...you can't really see it, but in the second picture, right behind the black box on the yellow wire are my Oakley's...lol. And I already have a system, I got pioneers up front, lightning's in the back window, and pioneer subs. I'm just missing the HU right now. In the next few months I'll be getting one though. I'll be in a 95 Dodge Ram (with a radio) by the 8th, so I'm not real worried about not having a radio right now. It just makes the drive to and from work DAMN boring...
