    wire question

    Anybody know if Cable co-ax wire will work as ghetto speaker wire? Or any kind of wire, for that matter. I work at a place where people return Comcast cable boxes and we get a shitload of co-ax wires, so I just started grabbing them. They're 18awg, so I'm sure I could find a use for them. Just cut the connectors off the end and use them for whatever I want. A wire's a wire, right?

    I think you may have some loss with that type wire (due to AWG) When I first saw monster cables I thought what a joke but the extra large size of wire makes a difference. CW

    Were talking speaker wire here. It's about 15 cents a foot for 14 gauge wire. You can spare that.

    Well, I already have my system wired, I just don't want to see all that wire go to waste. I thought there might be something I could use it for rather than doing what the cable company does and just throwing it away.
