Installing Air/Fuel Gauge

So i bought a set of AC S7 Gauges (Volt, Air/Fuel, Oil Pres.), could any of you guys give me some help on instaling the Air/Fuel one? It brings 3 wires 12v, Ground and Air/Fuel sensor.

I know I have to tap into the O2 Sensor wire to get the readings, can someone please tell me where is the best place to tap into this wire in a 01-02 rolla? What color is the wire? Any tips on installation? Any DIYs?

Pics would be very very helpfull and appreciated.

I have all three of those gauges, I don't know about the 01-02s but honestly don't even waste your time with the air/fuel. It's impossible to get to work correctly unless you bought a wideband o2 sensor.

I havent tried the install yet but most def its going to be this weekend... what issues have you had with the air/fuel one?

I thought it was as easy as patching in to the O2 Sensor wire and using some solder. And just conecting to a 12v and a good ground.

It's easy to do. I think you basically just said how you should do it. I soldered mine to my O2 sensor coming from the header. I think its better to get some wire taps and just tap them instead of cutting. The reason why air/fuel is a waste of money is because the stock O2 sensor is not really acurate so you'll be reading lean or rich most of the time, then the needles starts moving back and forth. Lik Superfly said its just for show unless you get a wideband O2 sensor which will run you close to 400. BTW I got the Newer style S7 with the face being all mirror like when off and now readings and the meters appear when its on.

Nice... do you recall the color of the wire you tapped into? There's more than one wire i guess right?

I recall reading the A/F gauge should move back and forth wile normal driving but at WOT or High RPMs It should ready RICH.

I saw those mirror like gauges but i leaned towards the more classic look.
Got any pics of them On / Off? Day / Night? I'd like to see some non-pro pictures.

Yeah you both got it right, its just too inaccurate to be worth installing.

i already bought it though... so i atleast have to install it for show then

it will let you know if you are running too rich or lean so its definately useful, but the sensors are too slow to use it for tuning purposes. Its kinda like a 2 second average of your a/f mix.

Oh, and I'm not sure about your car cause its a newer model, but for mine there was only 2 wires a colored one and black. I think I tapped it onto the colored one or whichever one it was thicker. Don't remember, but that's what did.

Interesting, did you tap into the wire on the sensor side, or did you tap into the wire coming from the connector side? I have an Autometer A/F guage, and I'm having an awful time trying to get it to work. And what wire did you use for your 12v source?
