    03 corolla & crosswind

you guys who own 03/04 corollas, do you find the car very, very sensitive to crosswind? each time i drive on the highway and it's windy, i find myself fighting with the steering wheel to keep the car straight.

it is. 03 corolla is narrow and tall. if only i knew that it would be so sensitive to crosswind, i wouldn't have bought the car. everytime i'm heading out of town and have to drive on highways, i take a different car.

yeah the 03's have this problem i discovered it when i was driving up north to visit someone and in open road doing about 110-120 i noticed the car fish tailing due to the ind and me tryint my hardest to keep it straight.

after i dropped it and threw on the strut bar i felt a nice change although i am still on stock 15's. But even witht he 15's i still get some of it so as soon as i get new rims im sure the cross wind shouldnt be a factor.

    holla

i totally know what you're talking about!
faster you go, the more you get thrown around. dangerous if you're not used to it. the first time it happened to me was like... whoa, wtf! the wind was blowing like crazy, i had to slow down completely.

just seems like my previous cars were not as bad as my current corolla.
my sienna van don't get tossed around when it's windy but then it's wider and heavier. oh well, just gotta live with it.

Get new tires... Each of my cars had this problem until I changed the tires, then the problem nearly dissappeared.

I never have that problem...... the other day I was on the 101 freeway on the way home while we had a cross wind of 20-30mph. No problems!!!.... I got a 2001, It's a lot lower (Stock) than the newer corollas (Stock). Not sure if I like the newer ones, I was not impressed when they came out. But...... It's a rolla and I love em all!!!

I have some problems in the wind on the 101 because every time i go over a hill i get hit by a crosswind but only at slow speeds. When Im flying even in the harshest winds it doesnt seem to bother the cars steering.

That 101 is a lot better now that they put on that rubberized asphalt huh?...... The way I get to work is Dysart to the 10 frwy then 101 all the way around to 17frwy then 17 to Thunderbird. then oposit after work. The only place I dont like is that 101/17 stack, It sucks with wind..... But thats it.....

If you all slowed down, you wouldn't fight wind nearly so bad ;)
