Well here's the thing. Down here out of the list we have Shell and Chevron. There's also BP which is Amoco as well. I never tried out Shell cause it's always the most expensive. So I picked Chevron, with Techron of course. I hear 76 is good too. Don't they offer 100 octane gas?

i goto bp unless i have a gift card to another place. they have 87 to 93 octane gas. it was kinda cool on saturday b/c the gas there was .10 cheaper so they ran out of regular and plus so i got premium for regular gas price!

Wherever it's cheap. At $2.19-2.23 per gallon, I no longer have any loyalties.

Here's some reading on gasoline octane. You can form your own opinions. Also remember that each state levies taxes on gasoline. Depending on what percentage of the actual price of gasoline the tax is determines what you'll be forking over.

    Gas is gas.

The no name gas stations shop around for the lowest price anyways.....there are industry set standards, so gas is gas.

I roll on 89 octane from a place called diamond shamrock. their gas is usually cheaper than chevron/mobil but a little more expensive than costco (i don't like bothering parents for their stupid card and i don't like lines)

In Phoenix things are run like this: About all gas comes in one pipeline from the south and is brought to a jointly owned refinery (i'm not sure if the fed owns it or not) but this is where the gas is dispersed to the companies that sell it in the area. This is where they put their additives in and then ship it off to the individual stations. Therefore I believe that all octanes are the same, it's just the additives in the fuel, at least in town. I have yet to see higher than 91 octane at any place regularly, maybe i'm not looking hard enough, but I don't need it so I don't care.

I only go to Chevron. my 01 loves Techron from Chevron. Let me tell you, When I got my car (Bell road Toyota), the dealer filled up the tank to full with "Arco". It smelled like a freaking 1985 Ford F-150. I took it back to my salesman within minutes. They brought it in to the shop and 2 hours and 3 cups of coffee later they called me in. They said they had to drain the gas tank cuz of the octain rating. Bullshit !!..... Arco sucks!!..... They gave me a $40 gift certificate to 76 (Circle-K) and I bought the 89 octain. The engine knocked on every excelleration. When that tank was finally gone I filled up on Mobil gas 91 octain. Checked my MPG when it was gone and it was at 28MPG. Then I got Mobile 87 and the MPG on that tank was 28 also. Heard about Chevron and filled up with 91 octain... After 3 tanks of Chevron it gets better. Went from 28 to 31 to 33 and runs better than when I got it used with 28K miles on it. It has been going down in MPG slightly to 31MPG but I blame that on the weather. It's been over 100 degrees a few times already but at least it dont smell like a freaking Ford. Chevron gets my vote. I love my Toyota and would not fead it anything but the best.
