I'm definitely gonna have to get use to this new look. It looks pretty good though. Reminds me of a mix of the Scion TC and an Acura TL or TSX.

I like the current model IS. I don't like how they took away the signature taillights and how it looks similar to scions  oh well

I just noticed the change of tail lights and now I don't like how they change that part also.

IMO, Current IS > Next IS

I will agree to whats been stated before. For some strange reason, it's not the same without the taillights. Its one of the things that made it stand out from everyone else. Now it'll just blend in with all the other cars in the road. One things for sure, this IS is going to bring down the price of the current IS, which is a good thing. :D

I like it a lot but mainly because it looks like the current BMW 5 series. I would not mind getting a current stick IS for cheaper! :)

SilverStreak on ClubRSX.com made a very good point as to maybe why Lexus dropped the clear taillights.

Now the Lexus IS has no association with the Toyota Altezza since Lexus brand has been launched in Japan a year ago. The current generation IS was just a rebadged JDM Toyota Altezza 2.0L, hence the name Altezza. Although, Altezza had been outdated and associated so strongly in recent years with ricers that people used to joke that a Lexus IS300 looks no different than a Honda Civic Coupe with Altezzas on the back. So Lexus will not be putting any clear lense Altezzas on any newer models (with the exception of the existing RX330).

Lexus is making all their cars be apart from Toyota, especially now that Lexus is going to be sold in Japan. So they want us to forget that they're re-badged Toyota's. If you notice, the same tactic is being used in Gran Turismo 4. Theres no Toyota Altezza to buy, only Lexus IS's.

i agree^^^ the IS is better without the so called "Altezza" and toyota already killed the Aristo in Japan which is a former GS. So long to the Aristo Vertex Edition (Twin Turbo) The Altezza is being phase out of production in the near future after the New IS is out from what i heard. maybe the same for the Celsior/LS since the Toyota Crown is the Flagship of Toyota from the very begining. Maybe Lexus has a weapon to replace the Soarer/SC. the "Supra" reborn????

Hopefully the Altezza doesn't get axed completely. I guess now you can no longer use "Aristo" badges on GS's. :D

man car makers are completely moving away from cars with distinctive sharp lines. That car is too rounded in general vs. the current IS. I dont like it AT ALL. Looks like a TC, BMW, and TL all meshed into one.
