    Need: DIY/FAQ/Tips on Soldering

    Hey all -

I was limping along soldering a cable for my computer the other day and realized that while I get the job done, there is probably a ton of info I could use to do it better/correctly.

    So here is my request:
Since we're having to rebuild the entire knowledgebase of vvti.net, let's have some of you pro's at soldering list some helpful hints, tips, etc. How bout it? I know I could use the help, and I bet some other people could too.

    Thanks!

Only tips I can think of are, 1) keep the soldering tip clean with a wire brush. 2) heat the wires first then then melt solder onto the hot connection, but also work quickly to keep heat to minimum. 3) use rosin core for wires and electronics NEVER acid core. CW
