Pakistan, a muslim nation, would probably attack Israel (with nukes). They would cease any further cooperation with the U.S. in trying to find Osama or providing security for Afghanistan.

Pakistan would run out of nukes (and missiles) and India would attack to try and take over Kashmir. India would consider the use of its nukes.

The U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia would be attacked...pretty much anything American in the region would be attacked, with wild abandon.

Israel would be attacked by every Muslim nation with a missile, and Israel would respond with its nukes.

When Israel is attacked, the U.S. would be practically obligated to respond, since the U.S. started this whole thing...and we're talking about a significantly large region of the world that's at war with us. We wouldn't have the man-power to try and take on such an area effectively - every last person would want to fight us, the war would be fought on their turf, just picture thousands of militias sneaking up behind and ambushing U.S. forces. Nuking might be the only way to quell the region.

When nukes fall on Iran, Russia will get angry at us...the rest of the world will already be angry, but they are chimpanzees compared to Russia.

Russia threatens to nuke us if we nuke Iran...so we can either spend vast resources trying to take over a nation of Muslim Fundamentalists, or we can nuke Iran, and get dumped ourselves.

So either we get into a shooting match with Russia, or we end up 400 trillion dollars in debt, with 10% of the world's population (or more) dead...can we say political instability in this country? Possibly a coup?

There may not have been a terrorist attack on U.S. soil, but al Qaeda have been active elsewhere (Madrid train bombings, daily attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, etc.)
