i don't know if he'll be back. he's got another forum to moderate...and i think he's just getting tired of the scene.

frankly, it's not like he's got the time anymore anyway...he's a busybusy man.

I disabled the drl's like in Vamps DIY and I leave them on at least 95% of the time - it's just that I wanted the option of being able to turn them off when I wanted/needed to, so that's why I did it with the switch. (It works great btw  )

well when you have bulbs that cost 15 bucks a pop, you dont want to run them 24/7.
that is the reason why i cut mine, im also more used to not having all of the creature comforts of my rolla

Definitely give a shout out to Derrick from me - I have a few things I wanted to run by him, so tell him to mail me when he has the chance... I totally understand becoming too busy for the scene... lol I'm getting overrun myself these days...

    Under your sink.

this is gonna sound bad after you spent all that work... but u didnt actually hace to remove that screw... you just shove a flathead betwen the harness and the mount and it pops right off.

I tried to remove that screw also when i did mine but then i read the DIY again and he does mention to just shove a flathead in.

I followed your DRL disable guide, myself, although a) I also took out that screw, and b) I backed the wire out of the harness rather than just clip it (although maybe I should have put in a switch.) Still, your guide made it all possible, as without it I probably would have tried to remove the wire from the A/C controls rather than from the DRL main relay.

My next mod will be disabling the automatic A/C (which comes on when the heater control is set to one of the defogging modes.) My main reasons for doing that are:I like the diffused air that comes over the dashboard better than the direct in-my-face air from the vents, but don't like the drag on the engine and the corresponding loss in performance and economy when the A/C is on unnecessarilyOn very cold winter days, when I'm warming up the car, the extra drag may mean the engine would dieI'm smart enough to turn on the A/C when doing so is advantageous to defogging the windshield. In the winter, the A/C doesn't help all that much, it is only in the summer or warmer days that one would rather use cold, dry air rather than heated air (dry or not) to defog
Another mod I'd like to do is to allow the power windows to be used when the key is in the Accessory position, not in the On position.

If I do those mods, I may put them up on my website in a step-by-step tutorial form for others to do. You have inspired me, Vamp!

It does save fuel, perhaps not all that much, but over time it adds up. My basis for saying that it does indeed save fuel is that the alternator has to work less hard by not having the additional load on it.

The manifold it being made right now. Once the base is welded together, the car goes into the shop so that they can start making the custom piping.
