Prophesized made me LOL, which I rarely do. There are two tab/clips right under each side of the seat (feel around between where the carpet meets the seat. Pull up and out and muscle it around!

I had just bought my 91 corolla, my last car, and I got a new air freshner. If you lightly singe the edge of it with a lighter, it really gets the smell going quick. So I did this in my friend's driveway. Anyway, we turn around a minute later and it had burst into flame and fallen on my rear seat, starting that on fire. So I know how to remove a rear seat, actually replaced it twice. The first time I got a new seat, but it was the wrong color, so I personally re-upholstered it (did a damn good job too). THen I eventually found it in the right color years later at a junk yard.

My 2001 Corolla seats come out by just pushing them back and pulling them up at the same time, pretty basic. I dont have fold down seats btw, i don't know if this would be the same with fold-downs. But I guess any other 98-02 rolla will be basically the same.

usually there are two clips (one on each side) on the piece that you sit on. you can pull on these clips and pull up and out it comes. sometimes (depending on the year), there would be a bolt holding it down at the rear as well as the two clips.
