toyota would put in a scion mp3 head unit in the corolla instead of this pos cd/cassette.

I just installed a scion mp3 head unit on the truck with some trimming and damn, it sounds 10x better even with stock speakers.

anyone know if the scion head unit fits an 03 corolla>??

well if it fits in the taco im sure itll fit in the corolla...... just trim and fit

I don't know if there's a spec (half height/full height), but it seems like in most cases radios come in only 2 heights, and the screws usually line up. My dad just bought a 2004 ford focus (I hate them, but I don't live with him either), but one cool feature is that it has a pretty nice blankpunkt radio/CD/mp3 stock head unit. It's got a B&W liquid crystal dot matrix display, and it has that feature where it reads tags from certain radio stations, so it will tell you the call letters, plus some even transmit the artist/song title of songs on air. However, that radio has a very odd size and would require some sort of plate to swap out.

Pioneer is really sweet. They tend to be good, especially considering the price. I also had clarion for YEARS in my last car with only the best results. My pioneer deck now is MP3 and XM. Nice blue screen too. Easy install, could do it in a minute basically.

when I was buying my cd player I almost got a blaupunkt head unit, but I hadn't heard much about them so I went w/ alpine, did I mess up?

alpine supposedly is tha best I know they have the best dvd player screens not sure on regular ones

Kenwook Excelon is a good head unit...their whole Excelon line is nice.
