    Re-read the post.

And from what I remember, Clifford and Viper are both part of DEI, so basically theyre from the same company.
Clifford has been around since the beginning....Id personally go with the Clifford.

Clifford and Viper are both DEI. Anything by DEI now has the same technology and parts inside. If you want to waste money, buy the Clifford. I bought a DEI generic, the biggest difference is the remote, it sucks, sometimes I have to be standing on the hood to make the bastard work. But the parts in the alarm are the same... well nearly the same. The sensors aren't as good in the cheaper ones, but that wasn't worth the price difference to me. My alarm is a little more sensitive. I used the money I saved to get a battery back up for the alarm and a pain buzzer under my dash. I also put in a blue LED for my alarm blinky light instead of red. I have it recessed behind my wood trim, so when it blinks it blinks as a circle.

where'd you get a pain buzzer, and does it cause physical or audible pain?

also - where could one get battery backups for them?

Anywhere that is a certified DEI installer/retailer would have them. The pain alarm is audible, it's very high pitched loud alarm under the dash. It's a great show off at car meets cause it's so loud. I think it was $6 and the battery was about $20, not sure what retail is, I got them at the dealer rate when I worked for a company with a DEI contract.
