The car looks funny. The fender gap in the front is huge and the bump in relation to the ground looks lowered already.

what fender gap? it looks like the crapy quality of the pictures to me. but yeah, he needs bigger rims to fill in that wheel well gap without lowering the car anymore :p

Well Im riding on a stock suspension, and when my buddy molded the bumpers it sorta came out looking like it was lowered in the rear, some of the pics were taking on a hill so they dont look right. I agree 17" would probably help, I have 16" on there now with 205/45 tires.

Ill take more pics when I finish up the interior.

i have geo metros with bigger wheels. :)

you are going to need 19's to fill that gap up and make it look right or close to decent. 18's would work, but you would need a larger side wall on the tire. it is easy to point things out now that can be done to make it look better, but it is too late. looks decent and better than some of the other cars people like to call project cars. just remember, every dime you put into this car you won't see half of it later.

just noticed you forgot to paint the mirrors.

DUDE this thread is not point out mistakes but to show everyone what he has done. Hope youdont take this the wrong way but if he wanted someone to point out everything wrong with a car, he would have just looked at a picture of cars people like to call project cars THATS WHY THEY ARE CALLED PROJCT CARS. Hate to say it but your little comment sounded like bashing...."you need 19's"......." it is easy to point things out now that can be done to make it look better, but it is too late." Come on dude, he just started modifying....."looks decent and better than some of the other cars " now thats the encouragement he needs

    "HERES YOUR SIGN"

I think your car is clean dude. It is very original and very show worthy. Though it might not be worth what we all put into our cars, it is an expression of us and thats all that matters. :p

P.s.- the fender gap is only because he is SO FREAKING LOW!!! if he puts lowering springs he cant move, give him time, one step at a time

it's an open forum to talk about anything that is related to the thread. i am not the only one to point out the HUGE fender gap. i didn't know making a comment about 19's was bashing.
    :lame
you don't want to fiberglass the trunk. the opening should be shaped in sheet metal and than welded to the trunk to fill in the area. fiberglass molded to metal has more of a chance to crack.

I agree. He's just blowing it out of proportion. The fender gap is unruly. The fitment and clearance of the bumper was poorly thought out.

I have strong NINJA skills wahhhh :ninjastea :ninjastea :ninjastea LOL

WHEN I read his quote, and read it the way he wrote it, it was somewhat pain full to read.

What if you spent 3k on body work and then you were going to get rims and springs next, but all everyone kept saying is how much the wheel gap is , IGNORING the hard work that was just accompished.

I wouldn't have gotten myself into that sort of situation in the first place. I do a lot of research and planning ahead of time.

Hi all. Ill take comments good and bad. I agree the fendor gap in the front in larger then i wanted, but i have plans to get 17" rims and an Air Bag system. I posted this up more to show what is possible with time and some patience. It was close to a year planning what to do, when the oppurtunity came up for this 9th gen bodykit at a price I couldnt pass up.

It's still a work in progress, and no where near done, probably still have another year's worth of work to go into it.

As far as the trunk goes, The exterior section where the reverse lights were shaved, was filled in sheet metal that was welded in and then fiberlglassed.

The interior piece with the 15" tv and the component speakers, was a custom made piece tht I bought off a guy in cali. It's made out of MDF and Fiberglass, then wrapped in vinyal.

Mark (Skyace2004) has the same thing done to his trunk lid, and done by the same guy who did my car. If ur intrested he is trying to sell it, so contact him.

Mburket~ Yes I have a fridge in there, gotta keep cold drinks handy when at a show :D

I have to be honest, I just never really cared much for molded body kits. But I will say that the work done to it so far is very respectable. Mad props to ya!

lol, yea im on my 14's still...i actually lifted it back up today though, it was way to low with my exhaust how it sits right now, soon as i bend my header up ill be able to daily drive it that low

the scary part is...my bumper was 3 inches off the ground, but i still had about another inch and a half of threads left to go lower on my coilovers...lol

drop wise.... yea.. a wee bigger rims, but it's still a WIP :D

    Here's what I'm feeling:

Overall the design of the car is pretty clean. Some of the molding I might not have chosen to do in the front due to the fact that the molding between front bumper and fender is never forgiving should you even slightly impact something. It's always better to just let those parts have the ability to flex from a functionality aspect. Visually it's very appealing, it just scares he hell out of me. :)

As for the fender gap... 17's with a 1.25" drop would work, however if the car is too low to the ground and a drop is out of the picture, try to at least upgrade to something a little more performance to stiffen it up a little and go bigger on the wheels. >: )

Again, overall I think the car looks good and has had some nice work done to it. Nice work. :)

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! :D

Alot of hard work went into so far. I know its not everyone's flavor or style, but i tried to do some quality work and do something different then everyone else has. Having molded bumpers scares the hell out of me to, but this is strickly a show car. I dont even drive it for work or around town.

The rims I want to get have Curved spokes, almost like they are in motion (but not spinners). If anyone knows where I can find these Please let me know. :)
