sports hr springs are about 1.3 front and 1.25 rear i think but they're pretty good even tho it doesnt seem like its much of a drop compared to other springs.

dunno how bad the snow is around there but if your tires are bald then you should go for tires

I say save up some more and get a full true coilover suspension. I wish I had done that instead.

How does the stock tires look - do they have plenty of tread to make it through the wintertime with no problems? How about the struts - were you planning on replacing those as well, if you opt to go with the suspension route? What size wheels were you thinking about - stock 14", a nice 15" or 16", or bigger?

If you were opting to go with performance rubber in a larger size - have to think about how long you are going to run them, chances are - once winter hits - you probably will have them off the car and have the steelies in place. Meaning that if you get new wheels and tires, you would probably only have them on for a short time until the snow starts to fall - then you have to wait until next year before you can enjoy them.

You would reap the best results with a performance spring, if you couple it with some fresh struts. If you are still riding around on OEM struts - best to change them while you have them off the car. Otherwise, you'll end up doing this job twice. A lowered ride height might be an issue in deep snow - but if snow is that deep to begin with, probably not very safe to drive around anyways.

You could always bank the money - don't have to let it burn a hole in your pocket - but its up to you. IMO, you would get the most use from the springs - given it close to winter. Also gives a chance to settle the springs and address any alignment issues before you through on a set of nice wheels and tires. If you went with the wheels first - you probably would have to sit on them for a few months before it will be OK to drive around on them (to protect them from road hazards and traction issues, depending on what kind of tire you plan on getting).

my stock tires still have alot of tread...i can take a picture later. struts are new(well about a year old). i wasnt going to go any higher than 16. i live in denver so the weather is pretty unpredictable but normally the main roads are good enought o drive on they just have snow on them...but last winter sucked i was stuck in the house for 3 days...than i couldnt undig ym car for another 2. and even than the side streets hadnt been plowed =\

i was thinking about banking money but than even then it slowly disappears from my account by the gas, food, and "oh hey thats cool" gremlins
