    08 corolla page is up

    wtf did they do to the car?

    gas mileage is down, horsepower is down, same 9th gen body style.. guess they're not introducing the 10th until next year or something

    126HP now and the gas mileage is dropped to 28/37 with a 5 speed. I have a feeling they purposely dropped the gas mileage so now the yaris seems more attractive. Before now there was no real point in buying a yaris because the gas mileage was worse.. guess they fixed that!

    i have no idea what they were doing. dont think toyota really cares about the corolla right now. the body style is old and a revamp of the car itself is way over due.

    I never liked the 03+ corolla in the first place. It's oversized and rides like an SUV. Toyota really has gone downhill. A lot of Toyota cars are overweight, too big, and underpowered.

    Have to remember that the new EPA estimates are required on the 2008+ model years - some cars are now posting as much as 25% less fuel economy than the previous years. Anyway, one shouldn't put too much into the EPA numbers, they are only estimates on a controlled course. From the specs - the 2008 Corolla looks like more or less a carryover, nothing new there - so we will have to wait until 2009 for the new Corolla.

    the camry hibrid is a big car with relatively good milage and the yaris is a small car with pretty good milage...right now isnt the corolla time..i think depending on how well the yaris does determines what happens with the 10th gen corolla...

    yup, it's still the exact same car. And yeah, folks are still getting 40+ with the 1zz. Those EPA estimates are whacked out on many of the small cars which makes me question how "real world" they actually are now. My conspiracy theorist side thinks it was done to make the Big 2.5's cars look more efficient by comparison, lol. Real world on the auto 2006 CE a friend's mom drives is 42mpg highway and better than 30 in the city, lol :superconf

    my moms 05 gets 41 highway and low 30's city... 310 miles usually on about 10-10.5 gallons suburb/city
