I used to work in a place like that, lol. Spent 4 years there actually. Very tense all the time. Paid like crap too.

Now it's a game to see who can bust whom out with a stupid video email. The satellite phonetrace one that flashed gay pr0n set to the song "right round" was a past goodie. I got a fair bit of mileage out of that. It breaks up the monotony of our job when someone gets caught slipping, which usually happens every 2-3 weeks. You get in a zone in Outlook as we gets tons of mail ...."oh, the address is ok, let's open the link" and BOOM... spinnin wang. The there's a loud :why: out of the person's office.

i get paid well, but in a clinical environment something like that hijacking your browser really slows the workflow, and in the minds of the managers reduced workflow = dead patients.

hospitals are tense - one goes into it knowing this. ridiculously good job security, too - it's easier to get fired from the government than it is to get fired from my job. (in other words, one would have to WANT to be fired - it doesn't happen any other way)

we're also expected to maintain a modicum of maturity while on the job. no random penii (HR moment, anyone?) or breasteses.

Yeah, I found out in February of 06 why the construction industry totally owns being a paralegal. Let's just say it's the first time I've ever seen the company officers(of any company) help float a keg of Dos Equis at a 4th of July party....to which the answer was, "well, go get another one!" It pays well, we've been around 30 years and we really only do one specific type of work. Serious when we have to be, but not like the attorneys. No one gets pissed and starts chucking things at the support staff, lol. I'm very fortunate to have such normal folks as employers now and I thoroughly enjoy the low stress enviroment.

Actually, I'm suprised I didn't have a nervous breakdown after 900 bankruptcy filings, a very old, mean and crochety attorney and a viper bitch of a receptionist in the time I was there.

Which reminds me, maybe I should use one of my bobo Gmails and Ric Roll their asses just for sport.
