Haha, that sounds pretty reasonable for piping, as long as its mandrel bent.

    sounds reasonable to me...
I got quoted about $300 for the whole package (custom headers, 2.25" piping, muffler).

$175 seems reasonable but you can tell him to go down to $150 and call it even.

well headers and muffler arent gonna be less than the price of just the pipes, pipes shoud be the cheapest thing,

mine was $215 for 2 1/4 and a cheap turbo muffler.... that included all new piping and having them put the new cat in as well

however, it was on a saturday.... exhaust shops charge more on the weekends

I paid 80 for full 2 1/4" piping with bigger resonator...gotta love So.Cal...there is a muffler shop on every corner willing to give you a better deal than the other :D

I was quoted 75 bucks for a 2.25" crush-bent catback. Were you quoted for a mandrel or crush bent setup? Mandrel equipment is incredibly expensive..

what is the difference between going with your own muffler and an aftermarktet one?

    i mean:
    sound?
    power gains?
    quality?

is it just a short cut? less money? or is it for reals? is it considered a real exhaust set up?

    thanks!

so are there any real power gains from aftermarket pipes and your stock muffler?

oh, what will happen to th stock muffler? will it handle the wider pipes? thanks!

They can make it work with the stock muffler. You may see some gains, but I have no idea how much..

probably none.... if you used larger piping and stock muffler you would need to reduce the exhaust piping size to fit into the muffler.... ie, bring it back down to 1.75" or whatever stock is.... it would bottleneck there and probably cause more issues than help
