I broke my passenger mirror! :(

I was in a rush to work this morning and I squeezed past my front gate trying to make a green light. Well, I mistimed it probably due to my grogginess of having to wake up early and I smacked the mirror against the gate and it snapped. That woke me up. So now I have my power mirror hanging from the wires off the side. I'm so pissed off at myself. I want to take the mirror off but in order to get it completely off I need to open up the door to disconnect the wire harnessing for the power mirror. If I were to glue it, would it stay? I'm thinking of using epoxy to perform the fix. That stuff is insanely strong. I'll have to tape or clamp the mirror housing together until it dries though. I got a nasty scuff on the housing but I can remove it with scratch remover, polish, and wax. It would be easier if I could get the mirror off of the car. Please help if you have any experience.

Man I empathize with you. :/ that has to REALLY suck. I did something sort of similar in my pickup before I bought the corolla.

Is this a temp fix you are suggesting? Why not just get a new mirror?

you don't have to really pull off the door panel just the small black triangle piece on the interior of the car. yeah and as paolino said why not just buy a new or used mirror.

a new power mirror is cheap on eBay. Just loosen 3 screws behind the black triangle piece on the inside and it comes out. Plug and play.

If I buy a new one, that means I need to repaint it again. Well anyways, I epoxied the part together and used duct tape to clap the whole thing together so now its just sitting there curing. After I got home from work, I found out another bad piece of news. The gate had sideswiped the side of my car as well and left nasty brown streaks which I hadn't noticed before. Meguiar's contaminant remover removed 95% of the scratches and streaks so its not noticeable anymore. There's still a little smudge I can't remove on the mirror housing though. It did take the brunt of the hit after all. I'm just grateful it wasn't much worse.
