    new brakes, yay =[

so i took my car in for a diagnostic check and routine they rotate tires and check brakes ect. i get it up there and the guys take off my drum brakes and say, oh snap its down to the metal and all fscked up....i say how?

leaving my ebrake on during the winter caused my rear drums to freeze in a spot and wouldnt disengage properly but it wouldnt be enough for me to notice. so now i have to pay 250 for 2 new drums and all that good stuff.

good news: i finally got my front brakes resurfaced and new pads =]

Couldn't you just get some drums from a junk yard and just have them resurfaced...i'm sure it'll be a lot less expensive...

yes i felt and heard it thats why i brought it in.

i wanted to convert to discs but they wouldnt do the work for me because "it wouldnt be safe since its not a stock part on the corolla"

i didnt want to get stuff from a junk yard since it is my brakes we are talking about.

if they were from a junkyard it would not matter even if its your brakes or not, what you have to watch out for is expansion, scoring or glazing. other than that its pretty safe to use drums from another vehicle. my front ones i don't get resurfaced simply because i warp them or they typically get glazing, looks like a burnt exhaust tip on my front disc's.

hey turbo4age im going today to get the price on the throttle sensor, they have it in stock.
