You guys also know that those numbers can vary... Weather, driver, etc have influence.

Yeah..but a Matrix XR 5sp with the supercharger running the same time as a non-VVTi Corolla 5sp with basic mods? I'm not complaining..but it seems like it should've been considerably faster..

    98 rolla weight: 2414
    03 matrix weight: 2679

265 pound difference affects the results as well.... and the supercharger doesnt add that much power...

What it probably comes down to is a bad driver or high altitude or something though..

I believe the s/c is rated for 40 bhp, not to mention the torque off the start.

You'd have to be a pretty bad driver to get those times...and you'd think that they'd do the testing to their advantage (cool weather, low track temps, use altitude correction factors).

Also realize that they say an auto Celica GTS will do 0-60 in under 7 seconds, and 1/4 mile in 15.3 (these are appropriate times for a so-so driver in a 6 speed). There's been discussion recently about getting an auto GTS to be competitive at the track; so far, i/h/e with a high stall torque converter and a 75 shot of nitrous could get you into the 15s...but not stock.

I think it's pretty darn funny :lol probably written up by some marketing guys

wow - those numbers are retarded. the matrix is mechanically identical to my rolla and the time they have listed stock is a full second slower than my rolla with only a CAI and muffler. either they've got the wrong numbers up, or the tester reaaally couldn't drive for shit.

    either way, they're dumb

Those numbers have been wrong since back when I got my supercharger like 7 months ago.
