    Need to drop my corolla

Hi guys new to the forum, first post here. I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on the best way to drop a corolla. Is it better to get lowering springs and struts, or get coilovers? Have heard mixed stories, so would appreciate your opinions. Thanks...look forward to being an active member!

$500-800....and thats pushing it....can you guys tell me any reserves about dropping your car? For example I have heard that it can mess up the car in a long run...? Also, what companies are good? And are coilovers better or worse? My corolla is a 04 LE with 25,000 on it, I wish I knew how to upload pictures...can anyone teach me how? Thanks

Lowering won't affect the car if you do it right. Nothing will 'mess up' the car. Your only concern would be tire wear. If you lower quite a bit you will need a camber kit to correct your camber for better tire wear. For around 800 you can get the Ksport coilovers. Its a direct replacement for your old shocks and struts. No need to remove springs with a spring compressor.

Scion TC wheels. Nice. The tires look a bit skinny though. I thought TCs had wider tires?

just don't drop you car all the way down or else you will regret it on even the most minor bumpy roads.

500-800 is a low budget unless you are doing it yourself. Springs can run from 100-235 (trd being the most i think) and the struts/shocks run from 220-500+

For your year corolla there are eibach prokit (1.1") similar to the trd (and some say it's a rebadged eibach). H&R, Tein (S and Htechs), drop zone and i think 1 or 2 others. If you go with springs there is only koni yellow (which needs modification) and tokico hts or HP blue.

I have the eibachs installed and they are fine. I just wanted to place the car slightly lower because it was too high, and get less roll on the turns. If anyone has driven a corolla, you pretty much have the car tilted like mad on turns. The stock springs just suck. A 2" drop will make it look like a normal 1" drop on other cars. Coilovers can probably give you that "slammed" look to it if that is what you want.

For everyday driving i'd go with TRD or Eibachs. Have fun!
