    RIP sk3

my sk3 was pronounced dead at 3:45pm this afternoon. my battery had been shorting out and the tmobile guys said it would be fine (note to self always buy an insurance plan when you spend 250+ on a phone) anyway i am pretty sad bcuz it has all my aim email notes calendar dates msn, it was my life kinda...now im using a sharp tm105 which they dont even make anymore. =[ i dunno im sad =[ =[ i dunno tmobile will probably give me a new one because they are badasses like that. if not i have to wait untill it comes back from RMA if they even let me RMA it

i'm old fashioned...for reminders i use paper and stick it to a board, and i keep addresses/phone numbers in a notebook. i also have digital copies of everything on my computer. maybe you (the OP) should consider doing that in the future?

I prefer good old memory. I have a brain with memory capability so I might as well use it before I get senile and it goes to waste.

You know being an avid PC lover I have now seen the power and potential of Apple. I used to say Apple sucked and that their only use was for being a paperweight or for punching and kicking. lol But now that they are using Intel processors and can utilize the Windows OS such as XP, why wouldn't you want to get one? Now the Apple can use and do everything a PC can do plus have the Apple OS and counterpart for it too. I'm sick and tired of viruses, spyware, and especially system errors and the blue screen of death. And Apple offers an 8 core processor which is almost unheard of in the day and age of quadcore processors. Apple is no longer the degenerate computer company. Its here, updated and beefed to hell. My next desktop is going to be an Apple running the Windows XP OS. btw Vista sucks!

i'll admit, it's a little delayed, but it works for me. flush your dns and try it again (in case you don't know how, go to start > run > type CMD, click OK, type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes, and hit enter). if that doesn't work, power cycle your modem/router...if that STILL doesn't work, then i don't know what to tell you. it definitely works for me, though.

do you have a router? are you wired or wireless? if you have a router, have you updated the firmware on it? what does comcrap say about it, aside from their general claim that it's your problem and not theirs? are you renting one of their modems or did you buy your own?

sorry, the IT tech in me is coming out...

it sounds like the modem to me, if you've tried everything i've mentioned. call them and keep going up the line until they agree to replace it, and call them daily until they do so. comcast is a HORRIBLE company when it comes to service, and you really do need to bitch and moan incessantly to get any sort of result.

can you get FiOS in your area? sounds like something you might want to do, if you can. :)

FIOS is unavaliable in our town homes, but it is across the street.... well i talked to a manager and they agreed to replace my modem, and when the tech came out he didnt replace it so i called back complained, they sent another one out, same thing. so its like almost impossible for me to get a new one =[ literally 3 techs have come out "replacing my modem" and said it was my problem and they cant replace it. however im leasing my modem so technically they arent losing any money replacing it and should do it for free. no questions asked

hey.. at 44th and kipling there is a comcast office...if you take your modem in ther and say that you have a replace order they will do it... also... I updated my wrt54g and it made my network unuseable so I redirected to stock and it went just fine... try doing that... sometimes doing an update is not good with certen modems.. also which comcast modem do you have is it the old moto one or a datastar one??
